MusicTech Rewinder - Issue #46

Heya,

it's Friday again and here comes this week's MusicTech Rewinder.

Upfront 3 things to click on:

1) I discovered this project which uses the power of AI to generate a video based on audio input. Check it out. It's another step into the Metaverse.

2) The startup Andrson has launched ReWrapped, which analyzes your Spotify favorites to find you soundalike tracks from its roster of unsigned artists. It uses AI to match songs to other songs that sound similar. It’s intended for use by A&R people, but Spotify users can test it out on their favorite playlist.

3) The fact that Twitch has overdubbed Metallica's live performance with 8-bit music because they feared copyright violations is just the beginning. Once the most backward and fan-unfriendly EU Copyright Directive will be executed, those things will happen a lot more. Good job, music industry lobbyists. You are about to destroy your most valuable asset - free marketing through UCG.

Enjoy reading and have a sunny weekend.

Cheers,

Matt
