MusicTech Rewinder - Issue #43

Heya,

it's Friday again. :-)

I had an email about this new tool, the Publishing Simulator, in my email box. It is supposed to help you make sense of your publishing deal revenue––or shows you the money you’re missing out on by not having a publisher at all.

The email said:

The publishing simulator is an educational tool for understanding different types of publishing deals and how money flows to songwriters when it’s generated by digital streaming. As with the record deal simulator, it is an attempt to simplify and visualize conceptually thorny things.

Have fun playing around with it.

I got socialized with hip hop. It was and still is the music culture I identify with the most with. I thought that I know already quite a lot about the evolution of that genre but I just learned a lot more by watching this awesome video about the influence that jazz had on hip hop and hip hop had on jazz.

Enjoy reading and have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers,

Matt
