There is so much happening in the music tech space: MusicTech Rewinder - Issue #81

Hi and Happy Friday,

I might have to adjust the number of links to noteworthy news in this weekly digest from 10 to 15. There is just so much happening in music tech at the moment and I don't want you to miss anything important. I hope that's ok with you.

A few other news:

1) I came across this study spanning 50 countries found clear correlations between personality traits and musical styles. It may be easier to befriend a fan of Bob Marley than a devotee of Nirvana, a study has found, as it was revealed that music fans around the world are united by their personality traits. Agreeable people lean more towards mellow music such as reggae, a survey of 350,000 people worldwide has revealed, while neurotics bottling up anger and frustration will prefer intense styles such as grunge and metal.

2) Right in the heart of Europe, the Prolight + Sound 2022 will take place from 26 - 29 April 2022 at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds. Off to a fresh start for the sector, in cooperation with Sample Music Festival the Prolight + Sound 2022 presents the Performance + Production Hub. An interactive "Experience Zone" for digital live performances and technology. Sample Music Festival, the organizer of the Performance + Production Hub 2022, offers music tech startups the opportunity to exhibit their products in a dedicated Jam Box area or via product presentations on the official show stage. A great opportunity to finally connect with the industry again and to present yourself among other innovators. Check the exclusive Music Tech sponsor proposal.

3) As the music industry continues to debate the many pros and cons of ‘the streaming era’ (while enjoying the unprecedented industry growth that it has brought), the spotlight can sometimes move away. In the MIDiA Artists Survey, 2022 music creators were asked how they will grow their audiences, earnings, and career.

Enjoy reading and have a fabulous weekend.

Cheers,

Matt

Just a thought exercise, for those old enough to remember CDs and CD players.  The CD technology was a universal standard, as defined by the original Red Book developed by Sony and Philips and published in 1980. The design of CD players was very straightforward in the beginning. Retangul

The whole thing stinks like an astroturfed promotional campaign.
